OurMedia is all about our collective voice and how we can leverage our mastery of information and communications to have impact on the balance of our perspectives. We are at a time when understanding how to sort through the signal to noise in what reality is, is becoming more complex. Is it the news, TV, social media, our echo chamber of those we agree with, or other ways we share stories to better understand our present reality?

Today we reflected on John McCain who was recently quoted,

“I hope we can again rely on humility, on our need to cooperate, on our dependence on each other to learn how to trust each other again and by so doing better serve the people who elected us. Stop listening to the bombastic loudmouths on the radio and television and the internet. To hell with them. They don’t want anything done for the public good. Our incapacity is their livelihood.”

We are looking for leadership. Where is it to come from? Our basic levels of trust have been impaired. We need to find a way to come together to heal and get to an innovative path to bring the voice of our society to better govern together the life we have been given as an opportunity to leave a legacy for the next generation.

Our view from Silicon Valley is not always aligned with the rest of the needs of society. Neither are most organizations that are struggling with what to do with technology and how it creates advantage to those that best understand how to leverage it. We are now in a position to help surface the voice of those that want to help lift up the value we bring to our surrounding communities. We can. Please share your thoughts.
