When you get a moment, check out John Holowach's video Fever Dreams; it's amazingly professional work. John first caught my attention months ago (last year?) when he added snippets of my personal monologues (from my narrative project Something That Happened) to his musical compositions, releasing his work under a Creative Commons license and making it freely available at the Internet Archive.

I'll be digging around here for some audio for my podcast Tempo of the Down, a downtempo music showcase.  Contact me if you are or know a downtempo artist with open-or-fair-licensed work I can use.

I'm also looking for soundbytes.  Right now I'm looking for anything that will it really interesting; I'm inclined towards the following, though I'm not restricted to using this type of material:

  • anything space-themed (Hal-9000-ish, etc.)
  • dark or sinister-sounding (perhaps noir-ish)
  • radio transmitter or static sounds/beeps
  • authentic personal moments
  • sexy sounds
  • authentic recordings of machinery

These are just a few things that come to mind.  If you've recorded and/or have the rights to this type of material, please let me know.  Just comment here or contact me by emailing harold@voyagerradio.com

Okay, it's back. The audio I had posted weeks ago, On Sampling and Licensing, is back on Ourmedia after disappearing for a couple of weeks. I got it back by reposting it using Ourmedia Publisher. It is not appearing both on the Internet Archive and here at Ourmedia.

It seems that some media has been disappearing from Ourmedia after being available for awhile. This may be a pre-launch issue, however, still rearing its ugly head. I'll perform some more uploads and see how they stick in the future. Only time will tell, I guess...
