The Past
I started my art career at age five with a rave review of my crayon renderings in my report card. At the start of high school I became interested in animation. I studied books and built a personal animation studio out of junk... an old drawer, frosted plexiglass and an old lamp became my light table.
Later... bought a computer. It had 3.5 k of ram and a tape for storage. Magazines published code you could type in to get programs. (This is important later). I purchased an Amiga computer in 1985. I was able to create 2D and 3D animation in millions of colors. Create and edit sound and music in 16 bit stereo. The Amiga connected directly to a VCR for recording to videotape. I also ran my own desktop publishing business by emulating the Macintosh.
In 1990 I became an artist/animator for the future Blizzard. I left to work freelance on PC, Mac, arcade machines and consoles (NES, Genesis, 3DO, etc). I later became part owner in several video game companies where I handled most aspects of game development including programming which I picked up from entering code from magazines. During this time I won the award for Best Interactive Game. Branching out, I created and produced nationally distributed comic books, including the first Internet/print hybrid comic book.
The Present
I have left the video game world to focus on other things. I taught myself 3D modeling and animation and am currently creating my first narrative short film which is being documented on my OM blog.
