G'day I'm Ruben, I enjoy listening to and producing internet radio shows/podcasts, travelling, nature hiking, Perl and Ruby, Jazz and drinking interesting teas, coffee and wine.

I've been using Ourmedia since 2005, previously for the Rubenerd Show, an internet radio show/podcast focusing on coffee, comedy, computers and controversy as well as related materials. All my work is released under a Creative Commons licence, so edit away!

My latest project, Rubenerd Unplugged is an effort to upload the dizzying array of recordings I make outside the Rubenerd Show studios. They're going to be uncut, unedited and uploaded here for you to listen to, resample or change in the spirit of free culture!

Thanks for stopping by, have a good one :)

Just logged onto Ourmedia again after a few months, it looks so polished!

I have to admit I'm very impressed with the upload speed and reliability of SpinXPress 2 compared to the web uploading service or the previous desktop uploading tool.

Unfortunately I've been having two problems:

  1. Most metadata I enter into SpinXPress 2 (CC license, keywords, date created) seems to be discarded when the media appears on the Ourmedia Site. I've given up putting any data in (other than the title and media description) and just edit the page itself once it's uploaded. It's a bit frustrating to have to do this twice :(.

  2. Just today I've been getting a ERROR: IOException caught while copying. error in SpinXPress. A nice little retry button appears, but then it just spits out the same error again. I waited for several hours then tried again without any luck.

Anyone else having similar problems? It's a shame, SpinXPress 2 really is such a huge improvement, but I'll probably just have to use it for files that are > 10mb.

Also, does anyone else get a "Page Not Found" error when you try to click on the orange RSS icon in their account?

I'm having a problem with uploading my latest podcast episode :( When I click 'Publish My Media' > 'Audio' it comes up fine but it has two lines in bold red font along the top saying that I need to sign up for an Archive.org account before I can upload my media Is anyone else having this problem? I've been a member since September and have never had this problem before uploading files.
