Description: Interview with Peter Loge on XM Radio's P.O.T.U.S. 08 on the impact of the metaphors describing the Russia-Georgia conflict on the US Presidential Election
Description: This lecture will be a short lecture and will discuss Napoleon?s fourth war with Austria. Although it is often referred to as the War of the Fifth Coalition, it is pretty much a war between Napoleon and Austria. In addition to the war, I will also discuss Napoleon?s divorce from Josephine, his marriage to a Hapsburg princess named Marie-Louise, and finally, the birth of a male heir.
Description: In this next lecture, I return to the chronological discussion of the Coalition Wars and discuss the War of the Seventh Coalition. This lecture deals with Napoléon?s return from exile . . . his escaping Elba and his return to power in the so-called Hundred Days. I will draw particularly attention to one of the most famous battles in all of modern history: Waterloo. I will also discuss Napoléon?s second abdication and his exile to St. Helena as well as the attempts by the victorious powers at the Congress of Vienna to reconstruct Europe. I will conclude the discussion with some closing thoughts on the significance of Napoléon.
