Here is a quick guide to the navigational elements you see on every page. Unfortunately, there is no current way to personalize or configure the site to hide the elements you don't care about.

Search

The Search feature should return results from every section of the site. We'll be upgrading it in the near future.

My Controls

These features are explained in detail on the My Controls explained page.

My Published Media

This is simply a list of links to the media you've published on Ourmedia.

My Blog Posts

This is a list of the five most recent posts you've made to your personal weblog.

Popular Content

This is a list of the five most popular items on the site, both today and all time.

Browse by Media Type

If you'd like to browse all the videos on the site (or audio, text or images), we list them by media type. We'll be making improvements to our taxonomy in the near future.

Syndicate

Every page on the site should have an orange XML tag. Click it to add that particular feed to your RSS news reader.

Community & Community talk

At the top right of every other page on the site except for the home page is the Community box. Here you'll find links to:

Newest Media

This is a list of links to the 10 most recent media items published on Ourmedia.

Member Blog Posts

Here are quick links to the 10 latest personal blog posts on Ourmedia. If you click on more, you'll get the full posts of all the personal blog posts on the site. Click on the member's name to go to that person's My Page, where his or her blog is located.

Ourmedia Blog Posts

Here are links to the five latest posts on the Ourmedia group weblog. (You see this box on all inside pages but not on the home page, where you can read the actual posts.)

If you click on more, you'll get the 15 most recent posts to the group blog, plus a breakdown of group blog posts by category. Remember, you can access the full Ourmedia group blog through the link in the Community box — or just head to the site's front page.

Any member may post to the Ourmedia Weblog. Your post will appear on the site's front page. If your post violates the site's Community guidelines or Site rules, our moderators will remove it. Because additional multimedia would slow down the loading of the home page for all users, you can't post video, audio or photos in the group blog (you may on your personal blog, of course).

Recent Comments

Here are links to the 10 most recent comments posted by members to other members' blog posts, or attached to the media they have published. A time stamp lets you know when the comment was made.

Forum Topics

Here we list links to the five most active Forum topics and the five newest Forum topics. Clicking more will take you to the full list of Community Forums.

Any member may post in any Forum thread. If you'd like to suggest a new Forum topic, please post it here.

My Buddy List

Here's a convenient list of everyone you've designated a buddy. Click on a buddy's name to go to his or her member page. See What is a buddy list? for more details.

Who's New

This is a list of the five newest members of Ourmedia, with links to their member pages.

Who's Online

This lists up to 25 members who are logged in to Ourmedia right now.
