How to save media to your hard drive

Saving media

When you play a video or audio file on Ourmedia, it generally comes to your computer as a progressive download, which means it's stored in a temporary cache folder.

If you want a permanent copy of the file to play at your leisure or to transfer to a portable device, do this:

1) Go to the file's media page (example)

2) On a PC, right-click on "URL: Link" at the bottom of the main window. On a Mac, go to the same link and click Control > Save Link As. Then save it to a folder on your hard drive.

Be aware that if a media item's owner has assigned "traditional copyright" to the item, you may not share it with others without permission.
