How to use RSS on Ourmedia
What it is
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is news that comes to you. (See our Learning Center for more.) Through news readers, or aggregators, you can see when your favorite writers, artists or publications have published new content — without even visiting their Web page. Simply subscribe to their RSS feeds and you'll be alerted when there's new stuff to check out.
How to use RSS on Ourmedia
Each member and each media category on Ourmedia automatically has an RSS feed assigned.
To subscribe to a member's RSS feed, simply go to that person's member page (to them, it's their My Page; to you, it's their member page). Look for the orange XML button at the bottom of the middle column. Copy or drag the feed to your favorite news-reader application and you'll be subscribed.
You may subscribe to media genres in the same way. Go to the Browse media page, decide on the feeds you'd like to subscribe to, and copy or drag the feed from the XML button to your news reader. For example, you may subscribe to independent film or mash-ups (remixes) and see all the new entries added to those categories.
