My Dashboard explained
At all times, every member of Ourmedia can access these personal controls through the my dashboard link at the top of each page:
My Page
My Page is your member page. You'll notice that there are view and edit tabs at the top of your My Page. The view tab shows you how everyone else sees your member page (except that they won't see those tabs on your page). The edit tab gives you access to your account information and personal and professional profiles. The first time you're on your My Page, you should fill in this information. After that, you may change your personal or account info at any time.
Please upload a mugshot, graphic or avatar of yourself! People love to see a face attached to a posting.
For more details, see My Page help.
Upload my media
The simplest and most reliable way to publish your video, audio, photos, text or other works is to download the SpinXpress publishing tool, available here. Follow the steps by including as much (or as little) text information about your media file as you'd like.
Post to my blog
All Ourmedia members get a free personal blog. Just click the post to my blog link and begin blogging! It's a public weblog, meaning you may link to it from your Web site or other blogs, or point to your other blogs from this one. Only registered Ourmedia members may post a comment on your blog.
See How to blog on Ourmedia for additional details.
Post to Ourmedia blog
In addition to your personal blog, you may post to the Ourmedia blog, a group or community weblog. You can see it at the bottom of the front page. Every comment posted by a member will appear on the site's home page. We'll need to reconsider that open posting policy if it is abused.
My messages
Any user may send a private e-mail to any Ourmedia member. Just click on the link ("Send [this person] a message") either on the person's member page or by clicking the "contact author" link attached to certain postings. The only way you can currently see if you have any messages is to click the my messages link.
You may also send a private e-mail to anyone in your Contacts list. (Anyone whom you've made a buddy is automatically added to your Contacts.) We'll try to improve this process in the coming months.
My buddy list
You can add someone to your buddy list at any time. To do so, go to the person's member page (his or her My Page) and click the link near the top of the screen that says, "Add [this person] to my buddy list." That's it.
Your buddy list will be displayed on your My Page, and you'll be able to send private messages to that member.
Log out
You may log out of your session at any time. The next time you want to publish media or post something, you'll need to log in if your session expired. If needed, see How to retrieve your password or screen name.
