We are just coming off holidays that were celebrating the migration of and development of humanity over so many generations. These stories were passed on by those that would share them with their families and communities. Eventually these were written down and passed on to future generations and are shared between us today.

New media tools are now available to us today that provide us the ability to communicate what is going on with humanity in real time.
This is what the big deal is about the Internet. It is the biggest thing since the printing press and we are still just learning how to take advantage of it to increase our collective understanding and hopefully the accountability of humanity.

I write this because I care. This is our media and that means the ability to communicate with our voice in a cooperative collective conversation. This hopefully means that we can find a way to express our views without the oversight and filter of an institution but being able to communicate with collective Integrity.

We’ve found our community of media enthusiasts include those that are into Digital Advocacy, Environmental awareness, faith and spirituality, personal empowerment and more. We want to provide the support for the voices of those that want to interact with others and share a common interest or in many cases those that care, maybe not always agree with the perspective of those others but respect them for their voice and views, or in many cases those that care and just want to share their stories with a respect of the importance of conversation around those issues that are important to us.

It is not my voice as one that has supported this notion, but my leadership comes from facilitating the voice of others. This will be published as I head into an event at UC Santa Barbara focusing on
“Changemakers: Tools and Strategies for Digital Advocacy”
Rather than talk about my views I am privileged to be part of what is called a design charrette around this topic. The intent is to gather what people are doing to advocate their causes, what issues they have, what are their challenges and connect with others that

We launched a new version of the site that is the outcome of an effort that started with JD Lasica and Marc Cantor, supported by the Internet Archive, Creative Commons, the Drupal community, Outhink Media and the major heavy lifting over the last many months from Markus Sandy. Thanks so much. Markus and I go back to our college days. He has fostered relationships with the community of new media enthusiasts and the Drupal community. Bravo!

May God blessings rest on you all this New Year. As we know there have been many changes and historical events that have taken place in 2008. No one really perceived that we would find ourselves in a recession and that many would find themselves out of a job, laid off or wondering if they would be able to keep their homes. When things are seemingly going well sometime we don't consider that the worst may happen or take place. We often dwell in our comfort zones while other struggle to find food, shelter or assistance just to survive. There are those of us who say why we should worry about those people, "They made their bed so lay in it" and go on about their lives secure in their own little world. Others say why would God allow this to happen to us? If he is really up there then why doesn't he stop the injustice or feed those starving people? From the beginning of time when God created Man, He gave Adam (The first man) free reign. In Genesis 1:26 Then God said let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, over the cattle, over all the earth. If you take the time to read this passage you will find God not only made man in his own image and likeness but gave him dominion over the earth and told him to be fruitful and multiply. You don't have to believe that there is a God but and continue living life as though by some "Big Bang effect" all of a sudden everything just evolved. We consider ourselves to be an intelligent race of people, but if you can actually look around you and say the earth the galaxy, the seasons and all that we see just happened, then how intelligent are we really? Man will always find some explanation for everything that goes on, but if we really took the time and an honest look at things, the only real thing that makes sense is that God really did create all that we see. The Bible outlined the events of today long ago. Because God has giving us a free will as he did Adam and Eve, we have the choice to believe and follow the word of God which not only teaches us about who he is and what is plan is for our lives, not to mention actually having a personal relationship with him you will find that you are God precious possession, and he not only created you in his own image but he truly loves you without measure. God will not force you to except him that a choice you must make for your selves, But he will give you an opportunity to know him thru his word and have a personal relationship with you. We all have gone through hurts, pain, dissapointments, rejection, devastation, sorrow, losses and there are those of us who have even considered ending our lives because of hopelessness. How many times have you reached out only to find that there is no one there to listen or who really understands you? how many times has your heart been broken or cast down by family, friends, loved ones, or people you have looked up to loved and respected, How many times did you find that there was one to turn to and to ease your pain you turned to drugs, alcohol, one night stands or something that later made you feel ashamed?. How many times have you gone to church week in and week out only to find that you were missing something, somehow there was something deep within your spirit that wasn't being filled. There is a place in your heart and spirit that can't be filled with sex, drugs, alcohol, relationships, money, or material things. That’s the place that God reserved for himself that only a personal relationship with him can you find true fulfillment, true peace, true joy and true happiness, God doesn't expect you to be perfect, talk or act perfect, He requires you to come as you are with all your imperfections, he is not concern red about the things you have done in your past, God knew you before you were born and has been patiently waiting with open arms to love, comfort and set you free from the darkness of this world, to restore your soul and provide peace and divine blessings to your life. When you know God, you know peace, when you know God you truly know love and how to love. Take time today, You have tried everything else and God had to allow something’s to happen in your life to get your attention, It is not his desire that you perish from this earth and that your soul is eternally lost . But He loves you enough to allow you to go through something’s in order that you come to the end of your self and allow him to truly take over as your personal Lord and savior. When you truly make the choice, you will see and experience a wonderful change in your life, heart, and situatuations. You will know that even though life may seem to be at its worst God will always be at his best. God bless you and keep you in this New Year.

Pathway to Perfection

The word perfect has many variations and meanings for instance when we were younger and very impressionable we would sometime hear our parents say to each other after one or the other made a mistake or lack of judgment call “Well I’m not Perfect”, as a child I often wondered what perfect meant, or better yet who perfect was. As a grew older I began to hear it more and more at School, on my job, In various relationships and even in movies like the “Perfect Storm” featuring George Clooney. Great movie! I realized that a lot of people characterize “perfect” according to their own personal views or beliefs, Most of which are influenced by the media as a whole. One can only surmise that in today’s society the meaning of perfect is slightly overrated and very over inflated. The truth is, no one and nothing is perfect except God himself, who set the standard for perfection. As human beings God created man in his own image and likeness (Genesis 1:26) and man was created perfect, The reason man was perfect, was because God created him with a pure heart, spirit and soul and breathed life into him. Impossible? Maybe you think the God of all creation couldn’t have possibly created the perfect man? Here is the hard question, whose standard is higher than God himself? Whose standard of perfection is higher than God? I submit to you that the first man (Adam) was perfect in every way. What made Adam perfect is that he was without sin, he was totally without doubt pure as the driven snow, and God gave him the full run of the Garden of Eden. Adam was given no limitations except one, located smack dab in the middle of Eden God placed the tree of good and evil, some refer to it as the tree of knowledge. Was this done to temp the perfect man, or to test him? In order to get the full revelation of this question, we have to either read the bible starting from Genesis chapter one, or for those who haven’t pick up a bible since the invention of bread, let me offer you this theory. If you were a car manufacturing company and the success of your company relies not only on safety, But fuel efficiency, comfort and luxury and since we are all attracted to a nice shiny new polished finish along with an attractive body style, wouldn’t you want to test that vehicle for flaws?. Though something looks perfect on the outside doesn’t mean it will hold up under any conditions. Consider how society labels perfect people, they first look at the body style, then the special features and don’t forget how they perform, can they hold up under extreme pressure. When we find the perfect model it seems like everybody wants a test drive whether it’s looking over the warranty, checking out the features, cranking up the sound system, kicking the tires and ultimately running that model to the breaking point, we have to make sure that our choice will go the distance.
When God created man he gave him a free will to choose. That choice was mans opportunity to either acknowledge his creator and desire to know him personally, kind of like when a baby is first born and is in it’s purest form, begins to take on the characteristics of it’s parents or parent whether good bad or indifferent, as that child grows it has the opportunity to choose which direction they want to follow as an adult. Adam had that choice. When God created Adams helpmate Eve, God realized that man should not be alone therefore creating woman, God allowed Adam to make the choice to except or reject her. Adam not only excepted Gods gift but replied, This is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh, and I will call her “woman”. God made both man and woman perfect without flaws. It was the choice of both Adam and Eve to allow sin (The Serpent) to enter in to their perfect world and choose to go against God’s instructions by listening to the wrong influence. That was a costly decision for Adam and Eve as they were no longer perfect. That decision didn’t cause man to be destroyed but there are consequences to every choice that we make in life. God still gives us that option to choose. We may not be perfect but we know at least most of us know that God is, and even though the reality is, is that these fleshly bodies will only last so long, wouldn’t it make since to at least desire to know the one that is perfect, since we were made in his own image don’t you think that it would please him to acknowledge that he is God our creator and savior and just the fact that he has allowed you an opportunity to know him and glorify him by our lives on this earth. Your not waiting on him, God is waiting on you. After all you are his creation. God Bless you.
